Crypt of the NecroDancer is Getting A Physical Release and Collector’s Edition in Early 2021

Crypt of the NecroDancer

Brace Yourself Games, the developer behind the rhythmic dungeon crawler Crypt of the NecroDancer announced near the end of September that the indie title will be receiving the physical treatment early of next year. The developer may be more recognizable for their partnership with Nintendo developing Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Feat. The Legend of Zelda which released last year along with DLC packs which just recently came out in the past few months as well as receiving a physical release later this month.

Announced via the Crypt of the NecroDancer twitter page and the Brace Yourself Games website, there will be a Standard Edition and Collector’s Edition of the game. The Standard Edition will come with the Amplified DLC, full-color manual, and CD which includes tracks from the Amplified DLC. Those who pick up the Collector’s Edition will receive everything in the Standard Edition along with a steelbook, an exclusive “Cadence” bandana, and an enamel pin.

Pre-orders for either edition will begin on October 23 with a planned release date of February 12, 2021. The Standard Edition will sell for $29.99 with the Collector’s Edition coming in at $49.99. This release will only be available for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. As of now, there is no information as to whether this will be purchasable at major retailers or directly through Brace Yourself Games. My best advice is to keep an eye out on the Crypt of the NecroDancer Twitter page and to check in on October 23 to see if there is any news regarding where pre-orders will be taking place. Despite the physical release being for only Switch and PS4, you can still purchase the game digitally on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PC, Linux, Mac, and iOS.
