Dead by Daylight Pyramid Head Guide | How to Play as Executioner

The Executioner was added with the Dead by Daylight Silent Hill expansion. In this Dead by Daylight Pyramid Head guide, we’ll cover everything there is to know about this killer, and hopefully make them a little easier to play as.

Before we get into the guide proper, I want to point out that we’ll be referring to the Executioner as Pyramid Head.

Regardless of the copyright issues between Konami and Behaviour Interactive, this is very much Pyramid Head from the Silent Hill series. Nothing is going to change that.

How to Play as Pyramid Head in Dead by Daylight

Pyramid Head is a terrifying killer. He’s quite fast compared to some killers, allowing you to catch up with survivors quickly in a chase.

He also has a colossal sword, which has a number of uses when you’re playing as him.

If you’re just starting out with Pyramid Head, give yourself some time. He’s a tough killer to get used to, but after some practise you’ll be a pro.

Rites of Judgement

This ability is incredibly powerful. It allows you to hold down the power button, and drag Pyramid Head’s blade along the ground.

This creates a trail that will alert you when survivors run though it. Not only that, it will inflict Torment on those survivors. This is important for another skill that this killer has.

Punishment of the Damned

This ability is similar to Rites of Judgement. Instead of causing a trail of evil that will benefit you passively though, it’s a ranged attack of sorts.

It will see Pyramid Head thrust that blade forward, causing a line of true damage-causing hate to spew out in front of him.

Any survivors hit by it will take damage, and should be easy to take down with a single hit later on.

Cage of Atonement

This is where torment plays into Pyramid Head’s skills. Every time you play as or against Pyramid Head, Cages of Atonement will appear all over the map.

If a survivor is afflicted with Torment, Pyramid Head can send a survivor to one of these cages, where they will be sacrificed to The Entity as if on a Hook, unless rescued.

Drag All The Time

Create trails with Rites of Judgement as much as you can. Wait for the bar to fill up, and then create a new trail.

This will pay off in every match you play. It’s always beneficial to know when a survivor has walked in an area, and if you can then use that to your advantage, the match will just go better for you.

Lunge

The most important tip in this Dead by Daylight Pyramid Head guide is right here. Make sure that you use your ranged attack when chasing a survivor.

They’ll try to avoid you by running around tight corners. When you’re in an area that’s open though, just hit them with Punishment of the Damned.

It will cause damage, or even down them, and you can then move onto what you’re doing next.

With this ability alone, you can have all the survivors injured at once. This makes is so easy to win a match.

Don’t Bother With the Cages

The Cages of Atonement are a great gimmick, but in practise they are useless. Every time you send a survivor to one, it will be on the other side of the map.

This gives the survivors plenty of time to rescue their friend, meaning you have to catch them all over again. Stick to Hooks, and whatever you’d do with another killer.

Only go for a Cage of Atonement if you’re near the end of the match and want to bait some other survivors back from the exit.

Perks

The perks that Pyramid Head comes with are as follows.

Forced Penance – Any survivor that takes a protection hit will be inflicted with the Broken Status for up to 60 seconds.

Trail of Torment – Pyramid Head becomes undetectable for 16 seconds after kicking a generator. However, during that time the generator’s aura will be revealed to all survivors.

Deathbound – A survivor healing another survivor for one health state will scream if they are at least 32 metres away from Pyramid Head. This will activate Deathbound for the next 60 seconds.

For that entire time the survivor will be afflicted with the Oblivious Status when they move away from the healed survivor.
